Favourites for gold, the top seeds, Thailand’s Yanapong Panagitgun and Chinese Taipei’s Tsai Yu-Chin won the respective Cadet Boys’ Singles and Cadet Girls’ Singles titles at the 2016 Jordan Junior and Cadet Open on Friday 29th July, the concluding day of action in Amman.

Both staved off challenges from Egyptian adversaries to reserve the top step of the medal podium.

A comprehensive win in the final of the Cadet Girls’ Team event for Chinese Taipei, the top seeds and favourites for gold but they were not able complete the double at the 2016 Jordan Junior and Cadet Open in Amman on Thursday 28th July.

Likewise the top seeds; they had to settle for runners up spot in the Junior Girls’ Team competition.

Hard fought full distance contests were the order of the day to decide the winners of the Junior Boys’ Team and Cadet Boys’ Team events at the 2016 Jordan Junior and Cadet Open in Amman on the fourth day of play, Thursday 28th July.

Tense times but eventually status prevailed. The top seeds emerged successful.

Impressive from dawn to dusk, Thailand ‘A’ and Chinese Taipei asserted their authority on proceedings in the Junior Boys’ Team and Junior Girls’ Team events at the 2016 Jordan Junior and Cadet Open in Amman.

At the close of play on Wednesday 27th July, gold and silver medals were assured in both events; as who dons which colour remains the unanswered question.

Leading African Nation, Egypt Asserts Authority in Jordanian Capital

Currently the most successful nation on the African continent, Egypt was very much to the fore on the third day of play, Wednesday 27th July, at the 2016 Jordan and Junior and Cadet Open in the country’s capital city of Amman.

They provided all four semi-finalists in the Cadet Boys’ Team event, whilst also reaching the final of the Cadet Girls’ Team competition where Chinese Taipei awaits.

Delight for the host nation was the order of the day, as matters commenced in the Junior Boys’ Team event at the 2016 Jordan Junior and Cadet Open in Amman on the evening of Tuesday 26th July.

Jordan ‘A’, represented by Nicola Deir and Mohammad Salameh, emerged as the one outfit to cause a surprise as play began; in their opening contest they accounted for third seeded United Arab Emirates pairing of Abdulla Albalooshi and Abdulla Almohaiseni by three matches to one.

Success in Phnom Penh, Pattaratorn Passara Maintains Form, Wins Again

Winner at the recent South East Asia Junior and Cadet Championships in Phnom Penh, Thailand’s Pattaratorn Passara maintained his good form to secure the Junior Boys’ Singles title at the 2016 Jordan Junior and Cadet Open in Amman on Tuesday 26th July.

Occupying the no.4 seeded place in the competition, at the final hurdle he accounted for colleague, Yanapong Panagitgun, the no.2 seed, to reserve the top step of the medal podium (9-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-6, 12-10).
