Semi-finalist earlier in the year in May in Thailand, when beaten by Korea’s Kim Youjin; Fang Sih-Han won the Junior Girls’ Singles title at the 2016 Jordan Junior and Cadet Open in Amman on Tuesday 26th July, the second day of play in the five day tournament.

Furthermore, it was her second success of the day.

Junior Girls’ Doubles
One hour earlier in partnership with colleague, Kuo Chia-Yun, she had won the Junior Girls’ Doubles title.

The top seeds, in an all Chinese Taipei final, the duo overcame Chien Tung-Chuan and Tsai Yu-Chin, the no.2 seeds, to arrest the title (11-9, 11-4, 11-8); an event that had progressed very much according to status.

Earlier at the semi-final stage Fang Sih-Han and Kuo Chia-Yun had accounted for Egypt’s Hana Mahmoud and Sarah Swaify, the no.4 seeds (11-3, 11-3, 11-8); Chien Tung-Chuan and Tsai Yu-Chin had ended the hopes of Thailand’s Cathareeya Poungsri and Jinnipa Sawettabut (11-4, 11-9, 11-7).

Meet Again
An all Chinese Taipei final in the Junior Girls’ Doubles event between the top two seeds with seniority prevailing, it was the same in the Junior Girls’ Singles competition. One again Tsai Yu-Chin had to settle for runners up spot.

She was beaten in the final in in five games (11-4, 11-2, 11-5, 8-11, 11-5).

Second Meeting in Final
Notably, it was the second time that Fang Sih-Han had beaten Tsai Yu-Chin in a title deciding contest at an ITTF Junior Circuit tournament.

Last year in September, the two met in the final of the Cadet Girls’ Singles event on home soil in Chinese Taipei; on that occasion Fang Sih-Han won in four games (16-18, 11-8, 11-4, 12-10).

Fourth Overall
The win in Amman is the first ITTF Junior Girls’ Singles title secured by Fang Sih-Han; her fourth when Cadet Girls’ Singles events are taken into consideration.

Additional to the success some ten months in Taipei City, in 2014 Fang Sih-Han won in Thailand in May and two months later in Korea. In Thailand she beat Hong Kong’s Lee Ka Yee in the final (11-9, 8-11, 11-8, 11-5), in Korea, her victim in the final was the host nation’s Sim Hyunju (11-7, 11-7, 7-11, 5-11, 11-9).

Impressive
Impressive form in the past two years in Cadet Girls’ Singles events; in Amman that form was transferred into the Junior Girls’ Singles arena.

Safely through to the quarter-finals, on the second day of action, she accounted for Hana Mahmoud, the no.7 seed (11-3, 11-2, 11-5, 11-5), prior to overcoming Jinnipa Sawettabut, the no.3 seed (11-13, 11-9, 11-4, 11-13, 11-7, 14-12) to reserve her place in the final.

In the opposite half of the draw, Tsai Yu-Chin had beaten Egypt’s Farah Abdelaal, the no.8 seed (11-2, 11-3, 11-4, 11-2), in the round of the last eight, before defeating Kuo Chai-Yun, the no.4 seed (11-9, 11-9, 6-11, 11-4, 6-11, 11-8) to reserve her place in the title deciding contest.

Team Events
Play in the Junior Girls’ Singles and Junior Girls’ Doubles events over; attention turns to the Junior Girls’ Team and Cadet Girls’ Team competitions.
