National Hopes Week Next Item on Busy Moroccan Agenda

An ITTF World Junior Circuit tournament in Agadir with an ITTF/PTT Level One Course organised in parallel; next on the agenda in Morocco was a National Hopes Week, the first ever to be staged in the North African country.

Casablanca, some 300 miles further north along the Atlantic coastline was the home for proceedings which commenced on Tuesday 12th July and concluded on Saturday 16th July.

Inaugural Chilean Hopes Training Camp Proves Successful Venture

Staged at the Olympic Training Centre in the Chilean capital city of Santiago, Venezuela’s Luisana Perez was the expert of duty for a recent ITTF Hopes Training Camp.

Organised under the auspices of the ITTF Development Programme and in conjunction with both the Latin American Union and the Chilean Table Tennis Federation, proceedings commenced on Sunday 3rd July and concluded on Sunday 10th July.

Landmark Occasion for Panama, Hosts Hopes Week

The most famous isthmus in the world, Panama was the home for the home for a Hopes Week from Saturday 4th to Saturday 11th June; proceedings were directed by Paul Koatz, coach for the Argentine National Team.

Overall, a total of 21 players, 16 boys and five girls, attended for what was the first such initiative organised by the Panama Table Tennis Association; home for the whole proceedings was the Oxford College in Panama City.

Champions Crowned, Tournament Success Just One Part in Assessing Hopes for Future

Traditions of excellence over many decades; the past for Romania is one of great distinction, in the hands of 11 year old Elena Adriana Zaharia, the future for the European nation appears to be in good hands.

She was the player to win the Girls’ Singles title at the Challenge tournament on Saturday 4th June, the event which brought the ITTF Hopes Week in Doha, Qatar to a highly successful conclusion.

Emphasis on Role of Coaches, Experts Address Doha Group

Four days completed at the ITTF World Hopes Week in Doha, where the sixth edition of the now well established event is being held; lectures delivered by experts from the Aspire Academy have been the order of proceedings.

On Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd June, it was the turn of the expert coaches, nominated by the International Table Tennis Federation, to speak.

Hopes Experts Training, New Initiative Receives Universal Approval

A view to meeting the demands for more National and Regional Hopes Weeks; a group of coaches, who will add an extra dimension to the already highly successful initiative by being aware of local needs and able to overcome language barriers, met recently in Doha prior to the start of the ITTF World Hopes Week.

Six coaches, one from each continent were invited for the Hopes Experts Training on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th May; matters being staged in the splendid surroundings of the Aspire Academy.

Last Minute Change but Pakistan Hopes Week Proceeds in Smooth Fashion

Constructed between 1960 and 1970 to replace Karachi as the capital of Pakistan, the city of Islamabad was the home for a National Hopes Week from Saturday 21st to Thursday 26th May.

Overall, a total of 24 players alongside 17 coaches attend the five day initiative led by Egypt’s Ahmed Dawlatly, the ITTF Technical Expert.

Enhancing Understanding, Strengthening Friendship, Eurotalents in Luxembourg

Russia’s Maksim Grebnev and Anastasia Kolish the leading names, Luxembourg was the recent home for Eurotalents Training Camp organised under the auspices of the Chinese Table Tennis College Europe in conjunction with the European Table Tennis Union and the International Table Tennis Federation.

Proceedings commenced on Sunday 15th May and concluded on Sunday 22nd May; the organisation of the whole itinerary being under the guidance of the host association’s Martin Ostermann, who enjoyed the company of most worthy coaching team.

The Grand Duchy Hosts Highly Successful Eurotalents Hopes Selection Camp

Situated in western Europe, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was the recent home for a Eurotalents Hopes Selection Camp.

Organised under the auspices of the International Table Tennis Federation and the European Table Tennis Union in conjunction with the Luxembourg Table Tennis Federation and the Chinese Table Tennis College – Europe, proceedings commenced on Monday 4th April and concluded on Sunday 10th April.
