Successful on Home Soil, Egyptian Eyes Focus on Agadir

Winners on home soil in Cairo in late January 2015, Egypt’s Omar Assar and Dina Meshref will have an opportunity to defend their titles in Agadir in just under three months’ time.

The Moroccan city, situated on the banks of the Atlantic Ocean will be the home for the 2016 ITTF-Africa Senior Championships; play will commence on Monday 24th October and will conclude on Sunday 30th October.

Returning Home, Budapest Hosts Liebherr 2016 ITTF European Championships

First staged in 1958 in Budapest; the Hungarian capital city is the host for the Liebherr 2016 ITTF European Championships, play will commence on Tuesday 18th October and will conclude on Sunday 23rd October.

It will be the third time that the tournament has been staged in Budapest, the city also hosted the event in 1982; notably on both occasions Hungary enjoyed success.

Rising Stars Earn Stripes, United States Upset Seeding to Capture Team Titles

Defensive skills, subtle changes and seizing the opportunity when the chance arose, Angela Guan emerged as the heroine of the United States on the concluding day of play, Thursday 30th June, at the 2016 Panam Junior Championships in Burnaby, British Columbia.

She spearhead her outfit’s success as, against the odds, United States captured the Girls’ Team title and also the counterpart Junior Boys’ Team crown.

Tournaments Ends on High Note for Host Nation, Canada Bound for Cape Town

Medals have been sparse for the host nation at the 2016 Panam Junior Championships in Burnaby, British Columbia; however, on the concluding day of play, Thursday 30th June, there was good news.

Both the Canadian Boys’ Team and Canadian Girls’ Team reserved places at the forthcoming World Junior Championships to be staged in the South African city of Cape Town later this year.

Brazil and the United States Imperious, Progress to Girls’ Team Final

The top two seeds, Brazil and the United States, duly progressed to the final of the Girls’ Team event at the 2016 Panam Junior Championships in Burnaby, Canada by emerging successful on Wednesday 29th June.

Both now qualify to compete in the 2016 World Junior Championships to be staged later this year in Cape Town, South Africa.

Reservations Made for Forthcoming World Junior Championships

Places in the forthcoming World Junior Championships, to be staged in the South African city of Cape Town later this year; Argentina and the United States reserved their places in the prestigious tournament by reaching the final of the Boys’ Team event at the 2016 Panam Junior Championships in Burnaby, Canada.

Semi-final places reserved as a result of concluding the group stage in first places in their respective groups; on Wednesday 29th June both outfits were in imperious form.

More Gold for Adriana Diaz, Partners Yomar Gonzalez to Mixed Doubles Success

Success for Puerto Rico’s Adriana Diaz two days earlier, when she won the Girls’ Singles title at the 2016 Panam Junior Championships in Burnaby, Canada; there was further success on Tuesday 28th June, in partnership with colleague Yomar Gonzalez.

The top prize in the Mixed Doubles event was secured.

Difficult Times for Host Nation, Better News on Fourth Day

A bronze medal for Alicia Cote and Ivy Liao in the Girls’ Doubles event earlier in the proceedings; otherwise life has not been kind to the host nation at the 2016 Panam Junior Championships in Burnaby, British Columbia.

On the fourth day of action, Tuesday 28th June, life changed for the better; representing Canada ‘B’, the trio comprising Alexander Bu, David Hong Lin and Edward Ly caused a major upset.

Leading Teams Progress to Second Stage but One Surprise Second Place

Three groups in the first stage of proceedings in the Girls’ Team event on Tuesday 28th June at the 2016 Panam Junior Championships in Burnaby, Canada; it was first place without due alarm for the leading outfits.

Brazil, the top seeds, selecting from Alexia Nakashima, Leticia Nakada, Bruna Takahashi and Daniela Yano duly completed their initial stage fixtures in first place in their group.
